She Started It!
Published in Paperback by McGraw-Hill/Contemporary Books (September, 1995)
Authors: Rick Kirkman, Jerry Scott, and Lynn Johnston
Average review score:

Very funny!
"Baby Blues" is the funniest comic strip! I missed the early ones, so I'm glad I found "She started it!: a Baby blues cartoon collection." The situations this family gets into is priceless! When you're feeling 'blue,' grab this book and your spirits will be lifted! I recommend.

Non-stop Laughter!!
Baby Blues have always hit home. This one is no exception. The way Zoe acts is what usual kids do, except now it's all recorded down. All the moments you wished you had a camera? If you have kids or planning to have kids, this is the one and only book I would recommend. It doesn't have alot of tips on parenting, BUT it shows what you're in for and the situation is not always as bad as you think. OR if you don't have kids and not even planning to have any, this book will make you laugh, PROMISE!!!

Shebeen Tales: Messages from Harare
Published in Paperback by Serif (April, 1995)
Authors: Chenjerai Hove and Scott Rollins
Average review score:

Hard to find, worth the wait
I learned of this book through reading Mr. Hove's editorials in the Zimbabwe Weekly Standard online. He is an outstanding writer and this book is a series of essays on Zimbabwean life in the 1990s. For anyone who is interested in what is happening there now, the book provides essential background. The country's problems are not new. It is often difficult for American readers to find books by contemporary African authors, and I highly recommend this one. I also recommend checking out Zimbabwe's independent papers on the Web: The Standard, the Daily News, the Independent, and the Financial Gazette. Congress is now pushing through major legislation on Zimbabwe, and the U.S. press barely mentions the country. The British press focuses on limited aspects of the situation. Read what this author has to say, he knows what he's talking about.

A must read for anyone interested in Africa
I read this after I left Zimbabwe, and it brought back so many memories of that beautiful country, full of resourceful people. This book is a snapshot of Zimbabwe in the 1990's, that examines so many aspects of the richly vibrant capital of Zimbabwe, Harare.

Shinto: Origins, Rituals, Festivals, Spirits, Sacred Places
Published in Hardcover by Oxford University Press (April, 2002)
Author: C. Scott Littleton
Average review score:

Great Book
A comprehensive look at the Shinto religion, including the basis, it's melding with buddhism, and some of the mythology. Great for anyone looking to learn more about eastern philosophy.

It surprised me with its excellence
Every once in a while, a book comes along that surprises me with its excellence, and this is one of those books. This book looks at Shinto, its origins and developments, its beliefs, sacred texts, and principles. The writing is clear and concise, giving the reader a clear understanding without being too heavy on details or too vague on ideas. Along the way, the reader is treated to a host of topical, colorful pictures that add to ones understanding.

This is an excellent resource, one that I highly recommend to anyone who wants a short, easy-to-read introduction to Shinto. I can't think of a better book in this category!

MOST IMPRESSED
We have both read your opus and were most impressed with your artful weaving of suspense throughout the book. It is a fascinating depiction of life in the 1400's resulting from your obvious in-depth research. You tell an asorbing story combined with a valuable history lesson.

Couldn't Put It Down
"I intended to finish my Ben Franklin biography before I started reading Sir David, but I though I would read just a chapter and then I couldn't resist. I enjoyed it very much and admire the storytelling and completeness of the characters."

Slapped Together: The Dilbert Business Anthology
Published in Hardcover by William Morrow (January, 2002)
Author: Scott Adams
Average review score:

Great
It is a really great book. I could read it 40 times. It is only good if you havent read any of the other ones.

A compendium of business knowledge a la Dilbert
If you are a lover of the office philosophy and observations of Dilbert and the gang then you will love this book. It is truly what the title suggests in that the publisher took three popular Dilbert books and placed them together into one large volume. As always, the biting humor and often accurate portrayal of all things corporate will have you laughing out loud as you realize how absolutely preposterous some of the situations are while also realizing that this sure looks a lot like real life.

A hilarious book satirizing "The Clinton Years"
Jim Wrenn, author of the Clinton Liebrary Book 2001 Edition at clintonliebrarybook.com gives a rave review to SNL Presents The Clinton Years: "I laughed so hard my throat hurt. It will be banned from all public libraries because no one will be able to read it without laughing out loud. The book presents color pictures and text from SNL skits (about Clinton) in such a way as to elicit just as much laughter as watching the skit on Saturday Night Live."

sdfgh
this is hilarious. I laughed the entire time i read the book.

Scott hits heart, funny bone in "So Far, So Good"
Scott writes a delighfully interesting tale of a merchant marine's six children as their lives grow complicated through a 30-year span. From the actress to the murderess, the Olympic skater to the author, the story is fascinatingly conceived yet so true to our own experiences of family. Scott has carved a unique masterpiece that I couldn't put down myself. I would recommend this rare classic.

Scott examines a fascinating situation about the six children of a marine merchant and how their lives take different turns throughout a 30-year span of time. The is the muderess, the Olympic skater, the actress, the stuffy businessman, the wandering wife, and of course, the author. Highly interesting in both its material and approach, "So Far, So Good" is wonderfully fascinating, yet built around such common people. I couldn't put the book down, and would recommend anyone read this extremely rare classic!

Solving the Mystery of the Biblical Flood
Published in Paperback by Xlibris Corporation (November, 2001)
Authors: Wm Scott Anderson and William Scott Anderson
Average review score:

The flood and how it happened.
This is a very unique book, that for the first time puts forth a new theory on how a recent global flood as described in the Bible may have occurred, that is both plausible and scientifically sound. The author treats Noah's flood as a scientific mystery story which he then proceeds to solve by examining the clues found in the geological record and human history, building a theory that is in harmony with the biblical record of an earth wide deluge and with what we know about the geology of the earth. In this detailed and well referenced book, common objections to the biblical deluge are examined and answers are found that satisfy both a literal interpretation of scripture and a scientific examination of the facts. This book is compelling as the author proves what many have come to view as mere myth, is actually a historical event well supported by scientific evidence. The author also presents the results of his research on detecting recently deposited micro marine fossils left by the flood in soil samples. Presenting solid Paleoclimatological evidence of the deluge, this book may require rewriting many currently used textbooks. Sure to be considered very controversial, this is a must read for any one interested in geology or the biblical deluge. Written for the general public and the more geologically inclined as well, this book is a seamless merging of a literal reading of Genesis with what geology knows about the earth. 305 pages, 20 B&W illustrations, index.

Best available book on how the Flood happened.
This book really does solve the mystery of the flood. It is basically a geology book that proves the earth has had a recent earth wide flood as described in the Bible.
